How you get food poisoning
You can catch food poisoning if you happen to eat one thing that has been contaminated with germs.
Food poisoning symptoms can happen if meals:
- isn't cooked or reheated thoroughly - isn't saved appropriately - for example, it isn't been frozen or chilled - is left out for too lengthy - is handled by someone who's ailing or hasn't washed their arms - is eaten after its "use by" date
